About Us
Little Steps was founded in 2025 with one goal: to raise the standard of care in ABA. After working across some of the most well-known centers in the country — and seeing firsthand the sharp contrast between great care and what often gets delivered — it became clear that families deserved more.
Too many clinics are filled with overwhelmed staff, high turnover, and therapy that looks more like babysitting than meaningful progress. That’s not what ABA is supposed to be.
Little Steps was built to be different. We provide in-home, BCBA-led therapy rooted in quality, transparency, and compassion. Every session is designed and delivered by certified and licensed behavior analysts. We partner with families to create meaningful change in the environments that matter most: home, community, and everyday life. We’ve seen what’s possible when ABA is done right. Children can thrive. Families feel supported. Real goals are met. That’s the kind of care we’re here to deliver — one little step at a time.

Our Core Values

Assent
We value the clients desire to participate in treatment to ensure that it makes their lives better. When children are motivated to learn, the results speak for themselves.

Progress
We focus on teaching each child through the way they learn best and teach skills that are truly meaningful and important in their lives. Skills that aren’t used will be quickly lost.

Integrity
Leading with honesty and transparency, we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards.

Compassion
Compassion is the interaction between empathy and action, it guides every interaction with our children and families.
Our Model
Raising the standard for ABA in DFW through expert-led, client-centered, and home-based care.

Getting Started With Us
Step 0: Get a Diagnosis
To begin ABA therapy, most insurance plans require an official autism diagnosis. If your child hasn’t yet been evaluated, we can help connect you to a trusted provider in your area. Referrals are available upon request, contact us today to get started.
Step 1: Verify Insurance Benefits
We’ll check your insurance, walk you through coverage, copays, deductibles, and get any necessary authorizations for the initial assessment. We are in the process of getting in network with the most common providers.
Step 2: Schedule Your Assessment
Step 3: Conduct the Assessment
Our BCBA will first meet your family and begin with a comprehensive interview. Following that, a direct skills assessment and functional behavior analysis will be completed to determine your child’s current skill level, deficits, and behavioral needs. This builds a clear foundation for treatment planning.
Step 4: Review the Treatment Plan
You’ll then meet with the BCBA again and review the treatment plan with the results from the direct skills assessment. This will include the schedule for services, an expected timeline, discharge requirements, assessment results, skill acquisition goals, and behavior intervention plans. Once everything is sorted out and agreed upon, the treatment plan will be signed and sent off to your insurance company for approval. On this day, you’ll also receive the parent training handbook and an orientation for services.
Step 5: Begin Services
YOnce the assessment is completed and submitted, a start date will be scheduled and your child will start receiving high quality in-home services!
Our Steps for Success
1. Intake
This is the starting point for services. During this stage, we will gather information about your child and family to determine needs and potential goals. After verifying active insurance benefits, a meet and greet will be scheduled to prepare for the assessment process.
2. Assessment
To understand and evaluate your child’s current skill level and behavioral needs, a skills-based assessment consisting of the VB-Mapp, a functional behavior assessment, and a caregiver interview will take place. The assessments will review a variety of skills such as vocal communication, imitation, daily living skills, following instructions, motor skills, and more.
3. Treatment Plan
Based on assessment results, an individualized treatment plan is created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This plan outlines specific, measurable goals targeting areas of need. Strategies are tailored to teach missing or underdeveloped skills using evidence-based ABA practices.
4. Treatment
Once an active authorization is obtained for services, your child’s ABA program will begin. Treatment consists of individualized 1:1 sessions delivered by your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), along with frequent parent training and direct supervision. Therapy is designed to be engaging, effective, and built around your child’s unique learning style.
5. Parent Training
Parent training is a core component at Little Steps. Through ongoing parent training, caregivers will learn to support skill development, respond to behaviors, and apply ABA techniques at home. Training is flexible, collaborative, and aligned with your child’s goals. We strive for our parents to be knowledgeable and confident in implementing their child’s treatment plan, including skills and behavior management.
6. Collaboration
A core component of our treatment is collaboration. We work closely with caregivers, educators, and other professionals involved in your child’s care. If your child is receiving school services, speech, PT, or OT, your BCBA will attend frequent meetings with the other providers to collaborate on treatment goals and to provide and receive feedback and support. This ensures consistency across environments and strengthens skill generalization in real-life settings.
7. Reassessment
Progress is monitored continuously through data collection and session review. Formal reassessments occur at regular intervals (typically every 6 months) to update the treatment plan, adjust goals, and ensure the program evolves alongside your child’s growth. We will evaluate all current and previous goals to determine the current progress and plan for the future.
8. Transition
As part of the assessment process, a discharge and transition plan is establish to ensure that your child can transition to a less restrictive environment such as school or daycare. This plan will be designed to fit your child’s specific needs and will take into consideration their current skill level, skills needed to be successful in the next environment, and parent concerns.
